PROGRAM CONTENT

In-Class Teaching: 14 hours
(Pilates History, Core Principles, Anatomy, Teaching Methodology, Hands-On Adjustments, and more)

Specialist Workshops: 4 hours (included in class hours)
(Breath Anatomy, Fascia & Pilates, Pelvic Health, Muscle Groups & General Anatomy, Ethics & Inclusive Language)

Observation: 3 hours
(Observing experienced instructors)

Personal Practice: 2 hours
(Self-led practice of learned techniques)

Self-Study & Assignments: 2 hours
(Individual reading and study of Pilates principles)

Practicum Teaching: 4 hours
(Teaching in real-life conditions)

  • Hold a certification in mat Pilates

  • Have taught at least 5 group or private Pilates classes

  • Origins of Pilates: history of Joseph Pilates, evolution of the method, and modern influences

  • The 6 fundamental principles of Pilates

  • Anatomy of breathing and its role in Pilates practice

  • Shoulder, abdominal, and hip analysis: their importance in movement and adjustments

  • Pelvic health: understanding specific challenges related to women, diverse populations, and pelvic anatomy

  • Introduction to functional movement: spinal alignment and mobility

Postural Techniques & Assessment

  • How to assess clients’ posture to identify their specific needs

  • Developing observation skills: recognizing postural imbalances and correcting them with care

  • Fundamental mat Pilates exercises: learning the essentials to guide students safely

  • Adjustments and modifications: adapting exercises to individual needs for inclusive teaching

  • How to offer constructive feedback that motivates and supports students effectively

Teaching Methodologies & Ethics

  • Teaching strategies: how to structure and deliver coherent, progressive classes

  • Creating sequences tailored to beginner and intermediate levels

  • Professional ethics in teaching: respect, consent, and fostering an inclusive learning environment

Advanced Practice & Adjustments

  • Deepening your knowledge of advanced mat Pilates exercises: techniques, alignment, and variations
