At Movement Teacher Training (MTT), our 140-hour Mat Pilates program bridges classical foundations with the latest understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, fascia, and breath. Designed for teachers who want to move beyond memorization, MTT develops embodied, adaptable, and science-informed instructors ready to teach real people, not formulas.

In-Class Teaching: 70 hours
(Pilates History, Core Principles, Anatomy, Teaching Methodologies, Mental Health, Ethics, Classical & Contemporary Exercises)
Specialist Workshops: 18 hours (included in class hours)
(General Anatomy, Breath Anatomy, Fascia & Pilates, Pelvic Health, Posture, Functional Movement, Ethics & Trauma Awareness)
Observation: 12 hours
(Observing experienced instructors in-studio and/or via live virtual sessions)
Personal Practice: 16-18 hours
(Self-led application of techniques at home, in studio, or privately)
Self-study & Assignments: 10-12 hours
(Individual reading and study of Pilates principles, written assignments)
Case Study: 12 hours
(Group work to observe, practice, and complete a written case study)
Practicum Teaching: 16 hours
(Teaching in real-world conditions in a studio or semi-private setting)
Total: 140 hours
At the end of the training, students will receive a 140-hour Pilates Teacher Training Certificate.

Prerequisites for Enrolment
Completion of at least 12 Pilates classes (group or private)
A strong motivation to deepen your understanding and share the Pilates method
Respect, open-mindedness, and a willingness to learn in a collaborative setting
What the Training Covers
Foundations and History of Pilates – Origins of Joseph Pilates’ method, the evolution of “Contrology,” and study of the six essential principles: concentration, control, centering, fluidity, precision, and breath.
Classical and Contemporary Pilates – Practice of the original mat sequence and exploration of modern adaptations for diverse populations.
Anatomy and Biomechanics – In-depth study of the spine, core, hips, shoulders, and pelvis to understand movement mechanics and ensure safety.
Teaching Methodology – Learning the art of guidance: observation, correction, alignment, and effective communication.
Observation and Practical Internship – Bridging theory and real-world teaching experience.
Inclusivity and Accessibility – Tools to adapt exercises for various clients (prenatal, seniors, those recovering from injury, etc.).
Ethics and Professionalism – Understanding the instructor’s responsibilities, professional boundaries, and compassionate communication.
Trauma-Informed Approach and Mental Health – Integrating safety, awareness, and empathy principles into teaching.
Career and Entrepreneurship – Strategies to develop a professional practice, manage one’s image, and build a sustainable career in Pilates.
Community and Collaboration – Creating a supportive learning environment centered on sharing, support, and collective growth.
